I am so thrilled, I just heard that my painting" Snow in August" received the "Visitors Choice" award at this year's Society of Wildlife Artists annual show at the Mall Galleries in London. I know it's just showing off on my part, but then I am a show off!

Congratulations Matthew! Well deserved! I love this piece. This is the one I was telling you I sent my husband. I'm in awe at the water in this.

Matthew, I just stumbled across your blog, although I have admired your work for years. It surprises me to learn that you make your own frames as well. I am also A wildlife artist, living in Alaska. If I am lucky, I can get my nephew to make a frame for me, although his frames are not in your league.

It's a beautiful piece and it's a wonderful recognition. Good to see you in Easton and I loved those two large egret/heron paired works and glad to read that you sold the 'bugeye'. Seeing it in person was a treat!
