One of the best things about being artists is that we have some really great artist friends. Our friend Terry Miller gave us this beautiful drawing of our son. Paddy is sitting on the bridge in the village and he's in a mood. The heron was christened "Jimmy" by my mom. He's one of the regular visiters to this part of the creek.
Ah well, the end of the sailing season... It's a shame because the weather is mild and sunny and I bet the bay is beautiful today!!! At least I will be able to get on with some painting!!

Bay Sunset

Julia and I played hookie this afternoon. We took the sailboat out and watched the sunset.(this is one I painted earlier!!) The bay was so beautiful. The wind was constant, and we had it all to ourselves, except for the geese and a few eagles. I love it here!!

Bison in the steam 24 x 48 oil

I saw these bison in Yellowstone.

National Treasure (skipjack)

We live on Leeds creek, a tributary of the miles river. During the summer we spent many happy hours cruising up and down the river in and around St Michaels . The skipjack in my painting (the Herman Krantz) was returning to St Michaels harbour during the wooden boat festival weekend.

Paddy and Walt go crabbing oil 5 x 7

Paddy is my 5 year old and Walt is a good friend and neighbor. This is how we spent the summer. This painting means so much to me.

Elk oil 36 x24

I painted this elk during the summer. It is so beautiful out west. I love the drama of the mountains.

cream roses from my garden

I am a garden nut. I love painting flowers.

"Grace and thunder" 24 x 48 oil

I have just finished this painting. It was my center piece for the Waterfowl Festival. I love painting the ocean. I love the power of the breaking waves contrasted with the elegance of the laughing gulls. My horizon looks rather wonky in this photo... very annoying.

Stampede" oil 20 x 48

I saw these Zebras in Chobe, Botswana. It was fantastic to watch them charge across the plains kicking up all that dust. The poor zebra in the foreground is rather pregnant!! This was a heck of a challenge .
