This was a fun challenge. Scaup, Widgeon, Mallards, Canvasback Mute Swan,Canada Goose, Wood duck, Mandarin Red Breasted Duck Scaup Canvas back and another Scaup…. Took forever, but I enjoyed myself!

"Sailing in the Keys" (The schooner America) 18 x 24 oil

When tropical squalls come through the Keys the turquoise color of the water is wonderful against the dark grey sky. The America spends the winters in Key west and then moves up to New England for the Summers.

Moon Wind in the Bay 20 x 16 oil

I thought it would be fun to demo how to paint one painting over another. This started off as a pelican. I did a rough wash drawing in paint  before I blocked this in with thicker paint. Gradually the Pelican disappeared and the sailboat took shape.
