Egret with Wysteria Blossom oil 48 x 24'' SOLD

Just Finished! I have struggled through the Christmas and the New Year on a large  Great Blue Heron painting which I couldn't finish. There comes a point when It is better to walk away than invest another  couple of weeks on the painting which has promise but is not coming together. My studio is full of half completed paintings, some of which I will get back to. However I have deadlines looming and was losing sleep. I am pleased to have actually finished something. This is a Great Egret with Wysteria blossom.  It's one of a pair. The next will be snowy Egrets fighting (same size).

That is a very unique setting for an egret painting. A job well done. I look forward to seeing the Snowy egret painting when it is finished.

Ah! So elegant. I *adore* the way the vines echo the egret's legs.
