"Uprising in the Marsh" oil 51 x 45''
I have just finished this painting . It's rather large, In fact way too big to fit in y car....thank goodness for neighbors with trailers!! It was quite a challenge.
One of my students kept telling me to go to Assateague to see the birds and wild ponies. What an Incredible place. I came across a large flock of Egrets and gulls which burst out of the Salt marsh as I approached. I just had to paint them. What she didn't tell me about were the legions of mosquitos, horse flies and sheep flies which made it Impossible to hang about on the marsh. I am delighted that this painting just won the the "Artists choice award" at this year's Waterfowl Festival in Easton MD.
Winter morning oil 7 x 5
This is the view from my porch. It show geese on the Icy creek with a wonderful old Loblolly pine silhouetted against the rising sun
Frozen morning on the Creek 6 x 6 oil (Study) SOLD
It can get really cold here in winter. This shows a Bald Eagle on an old snag on Woodland Creek. The Ice had thawed and frozen again leaving some gorgeous sculptural shapes. This is one of several Eagles that make Woodland Creek there home.
I want to paint this in a larger format 18 x 24" or 24 x 36"
Summer Morning on the Creek oil 12 x 18 SOLD
Late Summer mornings on the creek can be very busy. The watermen are at the height of the Crabbing season.
"Missing You" oil 24 x 18
It was one of those early Fall days wet claggy and humid. My son began drawing on the windows. I loved the way you could see bits of the Creek through the wiped condensation. Gradually the wiped areas dripped and began to mist over.Very Inspiring!
"Angel in the Mist" oil 24 x 18'' Great Egret SOLD
Sorry I have been very naughty and haven't posted any paintings for ages. Here's a few to make up for my absence.
I love Autumn mists that seem to dance across the water as the sun rises. I watched a mixed group of herons and egrets feeding in the early morning with the mist rising around them. It was quite beautiful.
