Well, I've finally taken the plunge and got a blog of my own. Poor Julia has been so patient, but I know that I have driven her crazy with my lack of computer skills.
So here goes... Welcome to the inner bowels of my chaotic studio!! Here's a few new paintings...

"The American" (Sunrise in the Keys) From start to finish...
This shows the development of a painting from start to finish. I paired it over another painting, which is always a challenge!!
How big is this painting? I was surprised to see how you painted over the old painting. I always sand and then gesso over the old painting before starting the new painting over the old. Less confusing for me that way, but whatever works. You got a great result in the end.
Thanks John, the painting is 24 x 36'' I should have sanded it but I only have water based gesso so I would't be able to paint over an oil painting with that. I like the Idea of sanding though. It was hard not have that egret show through the sky!!
